was successfully held in
10-14/9/2019 period in Vikos-Aoos Geopark the multi-day educational
visit of 45 students with their professors from the University
Prague Life Sciences (Czech Republic) (Czech University of Life Sciences Prague).
The visit took place within the framework of Memorandum
Cooperation which has been signed between the Prague University
and of the EPIRUS SA, as the managing body of the Vikos-Aoos Geopark and
concerns cooperation in the organisation of the summer school entitled «Ecology
mountains and conservation» Mountain Ecology and Conservation
which focuses on
topics of ecology, conservation, management, biodiversity and geodiversity
of the extensive mountain complexes, such as the Vikos-Aoos Geopark.
The 45 students in the small space
who remained in our area crossed the Aoos gorge in two
parallel mountaineering routes, ascended Drakolimni, climbed
Strataca, they crossed the Vikos Gorge and walked in its canyon.
Voidomatis. Representatives of the Geopark as part of bilateral cooperation.
they were near them, providing information and knowledge about geology, the
biodiversity and the rich history of the Geopark as part of the Global
Geoparks UNESCO.
