At the Bourazani position, the Aoos today cuts through river terrace materials that it created in the past. The deposits of the river terrace consist of cohesive calcareous conglomerates (photo 6.7). At a height of 30-50 metres above the current riverbed, there is another older terrace, creating a corresponding flat surface. Both terraces are part of a set of terraces observed in the Konitsa basin, which are the result of vertical changes in the beds of the Aoos and Voidomatis rivers during the Pliocene and Pleistocene epochs.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
