{"id":3117,"date":"2020-07-20T17:26:19","date_gmt":"2020-07-20T17:26:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vg.saywow.gr\/?p=3117"},"modified":"2026-03-29T17:28:23","modified_gmt":"2026-03-29T17:28:23","slug":"vikos-aoos-unesco-global-geopark-network-of-cooperating-businesses-and-volunteers-in-the-municipality-of-zagori","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vikosaoosgeopark.com\/en\/deltio-typou\/pagkosmio-geoparko-vikou-aoou-unesco-diktya-synergazomenon-epicheiriseon-kai-ethelonton-ston-dimo-zagoriou\/","title":{"rendered":"Global Geopark of Vico-Aoou UNESCO: networks of cooperating businesses and volunteers in the municipality of Zagori"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 data-section-id=\"npku3p\" data-start=\"73\" data-end=\"87\">PRESS RELEASE<\/h1>\n<h2 data-section-id=\"1ubheu9\" data-start=\"89\" data-end=\"197\">UNESCO WORLD GEOPARK VIKOS-AOOS: NETWORKS OF COLLABORATING BUSINESSES AND VOLUNTEERS IN THE ZAGORI MUNICIPALITY<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"199\" data-end=\"645\">\u0397 <strong data-start=\"201\" data-end=\"252\">Development of Epirus SA \u2013 Development SA Local Authority<\/strong>, in collaboration with <strong data-start=\"275\" data-end=\"292\">Municipality of Zagori<\/strong>, On the afternoon of Monday 13\/7\/2020, at the Monodendri Open-Air Theatre \u00abAngelos Kitsos\u00bb, they organised an informational event for tourism entrepreneurs and generally all active citizens of the area, with the subject of the possibility of their cooperation and participation in the joint promotion of <strong data-start=\"602\" data-end=\"644\">Vikos-Aoos UNESCO Global Geopark<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"647\" data-end=\"1052\">The event was attended by the Mayor of Zagori, Mr. <strong data-start=\"697\" data-end=\"721\">Georgios Soukouvelos<\/strong> and Deputy Mayor Mr. <strong data-start=\"744\" data-end=\"764\">Ioannis Tsaparis<\/strong>, the presidents and members of the Zagori Tourism Businesses Association, the Monodendri Tourism Businesses Association and the Papingo Professionals Association, as well as other professionals and residents of Zagori and neighbouring areas, such as Metsovo and Nestorio of Kastoria.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1054\" data-end=\"1147\">The Mayor, Mr. Soukouvelos, opened the event with a brief greeting and briefly mentioned:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1148\" data-end=\"1436\">\n<li data-section-id=\"3rak7u\" data-start=\"1148\" data-end=\"1229\">amidst the difficulties local businesses are facing due to the pandemic,<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1hai9qj\" data-start=\"1230\" data-end=\"1284\">in the Municipality's efforts to support them,<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1cgspke\" data-start=\"1285\" data-end=\"1436\">as well as in the continued collaboration with the <strong data-start=\"1326\" data-end=\"1342\">HEPIROS SA.<\/strong> for the development and promotion of the Vikos-Aoos Geopark and the Municipality of Zagori in general.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1438\" data-end=\"1904\">From the <strong data-start=\"1446\" data-end=\"1462\">HEPIROS SA.<\/strong> the members of the board of directors attended, Mr. <strong data-start=\"1514\" data-end=\"1530\">Eleni Rokkou<\/strong> and Mr. <strong data-start=\"1538\" data-end=\"1554\">Elsa Exarchou<\/strong>, as well as the executives <strong data-start=\"1577\" data-end=\"1596\">Georgia Kitsaki<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1598\" data-end=\"1623\">Aristotelis Staggikas<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"1628\" data-end=\"1653\">Charitakis Papaioannou<\/strong>, who, in collaboration with the representative of <strong data-start=\"1701\" data-end=\"1724\">LIME Technology IKE<\/strong> Mr. <strong data-start=\"1728\" data-end=\"1745\">Christos Bello<\/strong>, presented the first part of the event regarding the project <strong data-start=\"1810\" data-end=\"1819\">TOPIC<\/strong>, which is being implemented as part of the Programme <strong data-start=\"1866\" data-end=\"1903\">INTERREG Greece-Albania 2014-2020<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1906\" data-end=\"2068\">One of the project's actions, which has already been completed, concerns the design and development of three thematic routes with various objects related to:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"2069\" data-end=\"2164\">\n<li data-section-id=\"19fbab5\" data-start=\"2069\" data-end=\"2087\">culture,<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"ieyvds\" data-start=\"2088\" data-end=\"2113\">health and well-being,<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"ikqqs5\" data-start=\"2114\" data-end=\"2137\">local products,<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"dyd21q\" data-start=\"2138\" data-end=\"2164\">as well as geology.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"2166\" data-end=\"2426\">The geological route develops in a circular path and encompasses the entire Vikos-Aoos Geopark area. Their presentation is achieved through the utilisation of new technologies and \u00absmart tools\u00bb, such as mobile phone applications that are already in operation.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2428\" data-end=\"2763\">The innovative element in this case, beyond the presentation of the area, lies in the possibility of interaction between businesses and users-visitors through a game.<strong data-start=\"2627\" data-end=\"2643\">gamification<\/strong>), which awards virtual and physical rewards, which interested businesses will be able to register.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2765\" data-end=\"3028\">In the second part of the event, the executives of the <strong data-start=\"2814\" data-end=\"2830\">HEPIROS SA.<\/strong> they developed the idea as well as the method through which the active and voluntary participation of the local community in the promotion, advancement and development of the Vikos-Aoos Geopark can be achieved.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3030\" data-end=\"3089\">This is about activation through the establishment of two Networks:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"3090\" data-end=\"3193\">\n<li data-section-id=\"qyapxg\" data-start=\"3090\" data-end=\"3117\">of the <strong data-start=\"3096\" data-end=\"3117\">Volunteer Network<\/strong><\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1xu0uwq\" data-start=\"3118\" data-end=\"3193\">and of <strong data-start=\"3128\" data-end=\"3167\">Network of Partner Businesses<\/strong> of the Vikos-Aoos Geopark.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"3195\" data-end=\"3416\">These networks aim to mobilise civil society and the business community and engage them in the sustainable development of the area, in line with the principles of UNESCO Global Geoparks.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3418\" data-end=\"3664\">This event marked the beginning of the creation of the two Networks.
